There is a variety of complex issues which need the consideration of the researcher. The first one is the access. Getting access to informants and interviewees and other sources of information is a complicated task which researchers must carry out. The investigators have certain problems with defense abilities of powerful elite and institutions as well as of gatekeepers and sponsors. Besides, some problems appear when investigating non-elites or defenseless minority groups that may build discouraging obstacles against the meddlesome outsider. Each of these problems will need time and money in order to solve it.
